Tim Evans - Industrial Design Consultant

Having begun his career as a designer with Mission Electronics, Tim went on to work in consultancy for 17 years, working for clients such as Meridian AudioAGA/ RangemasterPatientline and THX.

He then founded his own design business in the same year that Coalesce was established. Since then, Tim has collaborated on an almost continuous basis on a range of Coalesce projects including three different dry powder inhalers, a high performance sporting product and a lightbox learning aid. In 2013, Tim merged his business with Cambridge Industrial Design and the collaboration continues.

Tim provides industrial design and human factors support by managing the medical device usability engineering process for Coalesce, a process which includes user risk analyses and the design and execution of user handling studies among much else. This not only ensures devices are safe and intuitive to use but also that they adhere to the necessary standards such as ISO 62366.

Tim has an honours degree in Industrial Design (eng) from De Montfort University and is a member of the Chartered Society of Designers.

Tim is evangelical about porridge.
